I am Pastor Dereck. I was appointed as Senior Pastor at Taylor Chapel in July 2018. I am married with three grown children, and my beautiful wife, Angela and I are natives of southern Indiana. However, we love living in Fort Wayne, and serving this community.

I started going to church as a teen and I returned to the Lord in 2006 after spending many years living in worldly rebellion. God has saved me from myself, and I want others to know that His grace is sufficient for all. Now more than ever, I am open to His will and am eager to share my experience, strength and hope with others. God’s light and love are incessant, and it is our choice as to how much we draw from this abundance. I am a lover of Jesus, and He is as real to me as my body is to my mind. I believe that once you have truly experienced the love of Jesus that you possess it in some degree throughout your life. Dereck Fields graduated (Summa cum laude) from Indiana University, where he received the “General Studies Degree Program Outstanding Graduate Award”. He was awarded the Clementine Miller Tangeman Scholarship for his studies in Master in Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary located on the Butler University campus in Indianapolis, where he graduated (Magna cum laude) in 2018. Pastor Dereck has been highlighted in publications such as the “Seed Bed” for his ministry in "Small Church with Big Deal." Just prior to his appointment as senior pastor of Taylor Chapel, he served a dual appointment while establishing a church plant outdoor ministry.
